Many databases registering pet identification information exist in Europe. These are mostly private databases but some — such as the I-CAD in France — are government-monitored. To be registered, the animal must have an implanted electronic chip.
While most EU countries have agreed to require electronic identification for travelling animals, the laws inside these countries are not aligned e.g. in Switzerland where it is not mandatory to register cats, or Germany where electronic identification is advised but not mandatory.
These databases are incomplete because they only hold information for electronically-identified animals. This is why we have created a database where all pets can be registered, whether chipped, tattooed or simply wearing a medal.
The GoBack BT and GoBack QR medals allow certain and immediate identification of an animal and its owners.
